HEALING WITH COMMUNITY
At Mas Vida Chiropractic, we provide compassionate chiropractic care that empowers individuals to heal, learn, and evolve. Guided by a philosophy that recognizes the body's innate capacity for healing. Here, we embrace the philosophy that healing flourishes in community.
Our office is designed as an open floor, where multiple individuals receive adjustments simultaneously, surrounded by an atmosphere of collective recovery and support. This unique approach is rooted in the understanding that suffering is a shared human experience, and therefore, healing should be communal too.
“The power that makes the bodyheals the body.”

Dr. Ramon "Ray" Vargas
Dr. Ramon "Ray" Vargas is a chiropractor, entrepreneur, life coach, and co-founder of Mas Vida Chiropractic. A former collegiate track athlete at Stanislaus State, his journey into health began after injuries revealed the gap between working hard and truly taking care of the body.
Today, Ray helps people who carry a lot (parents, entrepreneurs, and athletes) regulate their nervous systems so they can show up with more energy, clarity, and presence. Beyond the clinic, he facilitates men's retreats nationwide, creating spaces for growth, connection, and leadership.
His mission: help people reconnect their body and mind to express más vida in every area of life.
Dr. Alex Vargas
Dr. Alex Vargas is a chiropractor, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Mas Vida Chiropractic. Born and raised in California's Central Valley, he knows firsthand how injuries, stress, and physical limitations can impact every area of life.
His approach blends chiropractic care, movement, and nervous system awareness to help people return to wholeness: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Big Ideas, Real Impact
CONNECTION
Connection over correction. Healing happens in community. We build real relationships: with our patients, our team, and the neighborhoods we serve. Connection isn't a nice-to-have. It's the whole point.
community
OUR VALUES
We are proud Latino men bringing world-class care back to the Central Valley. We are building something that belongs here: that looks like here, and serves here.
INTEGRITY
We do the work with honesty, accountability, and high standards. We are intentional in our care, our communication, and our commitments: to our patients and to ourselves.
EXPANSION
We believe in growth: in our patients, in our practice, and in ourselves. A well-regulated nervous system expands what feels possible. So does a great brand.
EMPOWERMENT
We don't just treat symptoms: we educate. We give people the tools to understand their bodies, adapt to stress, and take real ownership of their health.
FAITH
We built this from the ground up. We lead with belief: in the intelligence of the body, in the power of the work, and in the vision that brought us here.
Health is more than the absence of pain—it's the freedom to live, move, and thrive every day.
— Dr. Ramon
Chapter 2:
The Beginning (1994–1997)
The Story of Mas Vida
Every family has a story. Ours began with a leap of faith.
In 1994, Dr. Ramon 'Ray' Vargas was born at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Three years later, in 1997, Dr. Alex Vargas was born in the same hospital.
Growing up, they had no idea what their future would hold—just two brothers growing up in Atwater, California.
Chapter 5:
The Calling
While at Life West, the brothers met Dr. Lance Von Stade, who became their mentor.
He challenged them to become exceptional chiropractors, leaders, communicators, and servants to their community. His influence continues to shape the care they provide today.
Chapter 7:
The Return Home (2022–2024)
In just two years, Mas Vida has become more than a chiropractic office. It has become a community built on education, relationships, service, and helping families move, heal, and live healthier lives.
Through partnerships, workshops, and patient care, the mission remains simple: help people experience more life.
EPILOGUE:
The Legacy
In the 1980s, our parents left everything they knew in Mexico with one goal: to create a better future for their family. Like many immigrant families, they didn't come with wealth or certainty.
They came with faith, sacrifice, and a willingness to work hard so the next generation could have opportunities they never had. They couldn't have imagined that one day, two of their sons would become doctors and return home to serve the very community that helped raise them. That dream would eventually become Mas Vida.
Chapter 1:
The Dream (1980s)
Raised in Atwater, the brothers attended Ballico-Cressey schools before continuing their education in Atwater.
Their childhood was shaped by sports, family, and the values their parents instilled: work hard, stay humble, take care of people, and always give back.
Those values became the foundation of Mas Vida long before the practice existed.
Chapter 3:
The Roots
Chapter 4:
The Competitors (2012-2020)
After graduating from Stanislaus State, both brothers attended Life West Chiropractic College.
There they discovered that chiropractic is about far more than relieving pain, it's about optimizing the nervous system and helping people experience more life. It became more than a profession; it became a calling.
Chapter 6:
The Mentor
In 2022, Dr. Ray graduated from Life West and joined Golden Gate Chiropractic in San Francisco's Marina District under Dr. Lance's mentorship.
When Dr. Alex graduated from Life West in 2024, the brothers returned home to the Central Valley and opened Mas Vida Chiropractic together, serving the community that had raised them.
Chapter 8:
Building More Than a Practice
(2024–Present)
Our parents came to America searching for opportunity. Today, we have the privilege of giving back to the community that helped shape us.
Mas Vida isn't simply a chiropractic office—it's the continuation of our family's story. And we're just getting started.
Dr. Ray graduated from Atwater High School in 2012 and attended California State University, Stanislaus, where he competed as a Division II track & field athlete while earning his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, graduating in 2018.
Dr. Alex graduated from Atwater High School in 2016 and followed the same path, competing in Division II track & field while earning his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, graduating in 2020.
Athletics, injuries, discipline, and studying human movement laid the foundation for their passion for helping people perform and heal.

The DOCTORS Vargas make for such a potent team and personalized experience.
The quality of time spent at Mas Vida results in exactly that, MORE life. I love getting adjusted by both of these men. The space is both aesthetically pleasing, but more importantly instills an energy of safety and peace.

Dr. Ray and the whole team at MÁS VIDA have really changed my life!
They take the time to explain to you the importance of spinal health and what exactly they are doing to help. They are honest with you about their part and the importance of your own participation in your healing. They don’t make any false claims or promises of a magic fix! They preach health and wellness as a lifestyle and help you integrate that for yourself. Not only are they uplifting the community as a whole, but you can tell that they really believe in what they do and apply it to themselves first. I highly recommend giving them a chance! You won’t be disappointed!

Dr. Ray has completely changed how I move and feel.
“I started seeing Dr. Ray for shoulder and back pain from sitting at a computer all day, and he’s completely changed how I move and feel. As an active runner, he’s helped me improve my hip mobility, recover from an old knee injury, and even get faster. He’s also taught me how to stretch properly and correct my posture to prevent future pain. I feel stronger, more balanced, and in better shape than I’ve been in years. I highly recommend it!”

We do not work directly with any insurance providers. If your insurance provider covers out-of-network chiropractic services, we can supply you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
We’ve found that insurance companies put limitations on how we can provide care. It is our highest priority to be able to provide the highest quality chiropractic care, and being a cash based practice allows us to do just that!
-
The main focus of your first visit is to identify the underlying cause of your issue. We take the necessary time to thoroughly assess how your body functions to create a personalized treatment plan for you. We also take this time to determine if further imaging like X-ray or MRI is necessary to make sure it is safe to adjust you. Your adjustment will typically take place during your second visit, after you and your doctor have reviewed the Report of Findings and discussed the plan to help you achieve your goals.
-
Our pay-per-visit adjustment fee is $125. If you are a practice member with us, we offer complimentary visits with your care plan that can bring the average cost down to $76-$86 on average.

When you hear a cracking sound during a chiropractic adjustment, it's actually the release of gas bubbles from the fluid in your joints. This happens when the joint is stretched and pressure changes within the joint space, causing the gas to escape, which creates that popping or cracking noise. It's similar to the sound you hear when you crack your knuckles. The sound itself isn’t harmful and doesn’t necessarily indicate that the adjustment is working or not—it’s just a natural part of the process for some people.
